Kwaclothes - COMMUNITY

KwaCare runs a Community Thrift Shop in KwaDabeka – KwaClothes. The thrift shop is being run as a small business. Here, local youth who are previously disadvantaged, are mentored and trained in business and entrepreneurship skills by established business people, many of whom have their own successful businesses. These young entrepreneurs are then given the opportunity to put into practice what they have been taught through managing and operating the thrift shop themselves. They also enjoy a share of the profits. The thrift shop also enables KwaDabeka’s community to buy new and second-hand clothes, linen, furniture, household goods, toys, and other items at very cheap prices. This allows people to buy things for themselves and their families that they ordinarily would not be able to afford. Thus, we are restoring dignity back to this community. Some of the money made from selling the goods at the thrift shop is given back KwaCare, enabling us to continue our work of helping poor and needy people.
